Phase 1. What’s next?

I’ve been working out of 728 Heidelberg Road since 2017, recently founding Phase 1 Performance. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a country girl from NSW, living in the ‘big smoke’ with my husband and our tenacious terrier. Our love of sport and music brought us to Melbourne 7 years ago.

I started working in the Fitness Industry in 2009. If you had told me then that I’d start my own business and open a gym during a pandemic, I wouldn’t have believed you. What I do believe after 13 years in the industry, and even more so after the past two years, is that going to the gym is an experience. It’s an experience that can’t be replicated as we navigate ‘normal,’ and on this rests the foundation of Phase 1 Performance.

One thing that we have been reminded of recently is that we can exercise anywhere, including the lounge room. So why are we still setting an alarm, trying to find a carpark and showing up at the gym instead? Because it isn’t just about exercise. It’s about seeing your friends, having ‘me time’ away from the kids and escaping the home office to unwind. It’s about variety,  trying something new, and being encouraged by a community of people who are turning up for the same reason as you.

Over the years I’ve witnessed many of my clients achieve their goals, big and small. It’s the best part of my job, hands down. The gym was part of their journey towards a different career path, a return to sport from injury, the desire for a happier and healthier lifestyle and countless other ‘whys’. When I decided to start my own business, I was inspired by everything I love and have learned working in a variety of fitness facilities. I wanted to create an environment and training experience that was community and results based.

So why Phase 1?

Phase 1 for me indicates the beginning and alludes to something more. Performance is simply turning up and giving it a go. It doesn’t matter what it is that gets you here, it’s a step forward.

The hardest part is making it a habit. Consistency requires motivation and this comes from having a goal. What’s your purpose? We have all read countless blogs on goal setting, so what happens when we reach them?  We celebrate our success and acknowledge the work it took to get there.

And then we ask - what’s next?

My amazing team are here to give you the confidence to set big goals and the tools and guidance to achieve them. You have the support of an encouraging community to get you through the days when it’s a struggle and an atmosphere that guarantees you walk out smiling.

Chat to us today and find out how Phase 1 can help keep you motivated and moving towards your goals.
